Management and maintenance of urban vegetable gardens and biodiversity in the Chablais district
Context and objective
Located in Aigle, the Chablais neighborhood comprises two buildings housing 64 apartments, inhabited by an intergenerational population of families, children, and retirees. This living space has gradually evolved into a truly convivial and sustainable space. For the past three years, Légumes Perchés has been supporting residents in the creation and maintenance of shared vegetable gardens, transforming what began as a simple lawn into a vibrant and unifying space. Thanks to regular support, the vegetable gardens have become a catalyst for exchange, promoting civic engagement, social ties, and environmental awareness. Today, this space is much more than a garden: it’s a meeting point for the neighborhood, where vegetables are grown… and human relationships are fostered.
The solution implemented
Notre service de gestion et d’entretien des potagers a été conçu pour offrir une solution simple, durable et clé en main à toutes les structures souhaitant intégrer un espace de culture. Après une conception sur mesure, nous installons des jardins adaptés à l’espace disponible, enrichis de plantations vivaces, de paillage naturel. Une fois le potager en place, notre service d’accompagnement annuel prend le relais : nous assurons trois ateliers participatifs avec les habitant·es (semis, entretien, récolte). Nous nous chargeons également de la gestion des inscriptions et de la liste d’attente, afin que tout soit fluide et sans effort pour le gestionnaire du site. Résultat : un potager vivant, beau et productif toute l’année, véritable support de lien social et de transition écologique, sans jamais tomber à l’abandon.
