Urban farm and company vegetable garden in the Mixcity building

Context and objective
On the roof of the MixCity building in Renens, the first urban farm of this scale in French-speaking Switzerland is being installed, designed, installed, and operated by Légumes Perchés on behalf of the owner. Much more than a simple raised garden, this rooftop farm embodies a new way of experiencing the city: productive, local, and connected to nature. Thanks to an open-ground cultivation system directly integrated into the roof, fresh vegetables will be grown locally. Fruit trees and planted areas complete the ensemble, bringing biodiversity and freshness to the urban heart.
The solution implemented
Our corporate vegetable garden service is specially designed to support buildings committed to a WELL Community approach, integrating nature and well-being into the heart of the work environment. By creating and managing suitable vegetable gardens, we promote the quality of outdoor spaces, one of the key criteria of the WELL label. These vegetable gardens contribute to improving air quality and the living environment, encourage healthy eating through local fruit and vegetable production, and offer employees a place to relax, meet, and learn.
We handle the design, installation, and regular maintenance of the vegetable gardens, ensuring their vitality and productivity without any effort on the part of the company. Participatory workshops are organized to raise employee awareness about biodiversity, growing cycles, and a balanced diet, thus strengthening social cohesion and the connection with nature. Our service is a concrete solution to meet the requirements of the WELL label for outdoor spaces, while promoting a healthier, more motivating and sustainable working environment.
