Context and objective
In an urban environment where nature is in short supply, nurseries struggle to offer toddlers direct contact with living things. Yet children’s sensory awareness, motor development and natural curiosity depend on observing, touching and discovering biodiversity. Urban agriculture, with its specially adapted educational vegetable gardens, brings nature right into the heart of childcare facilities. Accessible from early childhood, it raises awareness of the seasons, vegetables, respect for living things and healthy eating. These mini-gardens create a strong link with the environment, even in the city. It is fully in line with the values of TotUP, which is committed to offering children the excellence of its services in a stimulating, natural and caring environment.

From seed to plate programme
We offer a service specially designed for nurseries, combining professional vegetable garden maintenance with fun, sensory workshops tailored to toddlers. Through ‘from seed to plate’ activities, children discover nature’s cycles, the tastes of fresh vegetables and gardening techniques, gently and at their own pace. The aim is clear: to reconnect young citizens with nature and their food from an early age. This service has been designed to relieve the burden on the teaching teams, by ensuring regular monitoring of the vegetable garden. The result is well-maintained, abundant and, above all, never neglected vegetable gardens that are a living source of discovery and shared pride.
