Educational vegetable garden for the Préverenges school complex

Context and objective
At Préverenges School, the desire to create an educational vegetable garden was very much present, driven by motivated teachers who were sensitive to environmental issues. But as in many schools, a lack of gardening knowledge and time to care for it hindered action. Thanks to a wonderful collaboration with teacher Laure Croset and tailored support, the project was able to see the light of day and become a lasting part of the school’s life. Today, students discover the cycle of the seasons, grow vegetables in the ground, and develop their curiosity about nature. This vegetable garden has become a truly living educational tool, promoting sustainable food, biodiversity, and connection with the local area.
The solution implemented
An educational vegetable garden was created through the design and construction of a 100m² space, designed to make getting started simple. In the first year, students grew potatoes, tomatoes, and herbs. Through our “From Seed to Plate” program, regular workshops allow students to explore new plants, textures, and flavors year after year, while fostering the connection between nature, food, and learning. The vegetable garden has thus become a truly vibrant, evolving educational tool that is deeply rooted in the life of the school.
